Do we need a superhero to come along and save us from the crisis we find ourselves in because we can no longer manage it ourselves? Do we need a noble fighter for the good of all humanity, who uses superhuman powers to ensure that life on our planet is preserved?

The need for heroes seems to be as old as humanity, I read. And that this need increases in uncertain times, in times of collective disorientation and individual powerlessness. Most people are even said to dream of performing a heroic deed themselves.

So why not slip into the role of a superhero for a while and imagine what it would be like to be, say, Superman today? What would Superman do today? Born in 1938, my childhood hero would now be over 80 years old and retired. What would his and his dog's daily routine look like today?
